Bathtub support
Tub supports are installation aids for Badewannen, which are usually made of styrofoam. By fixing them in the polystyrene, they are permanently and reliably anchored. In addition to the function of supporting the bathtub and facilitating its installation, tub supports have the positive side effect of storing heat. Thanks to the tub supports, it is no longer necessary to wall off the tub, so there is greater freedom of design. The tub support can be tiled simply and easily, saving the need for time-consuming construction of a substructure. The tub skirts can also be additionally plastered.
Tub support or base frame?
When deciding for or against a tub support, the floor on which the tub is to be placed also plays a decisive role. For solid surfaces such as concrete or screed, bathtubs can be fixed either on tub supports or foot frames. When choosing a foot frame, the entire weight of the bathtub always rests only on the feet of the frame. If the bathtub is to be placed on wooden floor or dry screed, a tub support makes more sense. Here, the weight of the bathtub is placed on the entire surface.
